Non sono mai stata una grande fan del calendario Pirelli. Il calendario Pirelli è principalmente conosciuto come il calendario più sexy della moda. I have never been a big fan of the Pirelli calendar. The Pirelli calendar is known as the sexiest fashion calendar. Luckily (in my opinion), the vision has become more ambitious. Last year, the calendar was largely “makeup-free” and shot by Peter Lindbergh.

Ideato dal redattore nell’edizione inglese di Vogue Edward Enninful e scattato dal fotografo Tim Walker, il calendario reinventa le avventure di Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie con un incredibile cast di modelle e modelli, musiciste e musicisti, attori ed attrici.
The 2018 Pirelli Calendar represents the 45th edition to date. Styled by British Vogue editor Edward Enninful and shot by photographer Tim Walker, the calendar reinvents Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with an incredible cast of models, musicians, actors and actresses.
La scelta di scegliere un cast “all-black” non è stata influenzata dal costante dibattito all’interno dell’industria della moda di una mancanza di diversità sulle passerelle, questione che è stata discussa regolarmente per l’ultimo decennio.

The choice to pick an “all-blacks” cast was not influenced by the constant debate within the fashion industry about a lack of diversity on the catwalks, an issue that has been discussed regularly for the last decade.
“This is not about trends, this is about the zeitgeist today,” Mr. Walker said to NY Times “I think we are living in a fantastically exciting time, particularly when a story like that of Alice, that has held such resonance with so many people and been told in a certain way for so long, can now be told compellingly in another.”
Nonostante le affermazioni del fotografo Tim Walker, è inevitabile che il calendario Pirelli 2018 farà parlare di se proprio per una questione di etnia e diversità.
Per quanto riguarda noi, stiamo aspettando dei tempi dove la diversità non faccia scalpore, non faccia notizia, ma venga considerata normale.
Come questo calendario, che racconta in maniera diversa e nuova una fiaba a cui siamo affezionati.
Despite what Tim Walker said , it is inevitable that all the discussions around the 2018 Pirelli calendar will be just a matter of ethnicity and diversity.
As far as we are concerned, we are waiting for that times where diversity does not make sense, do not report, but will be considered normal.
Like this calendar, which tells in a different and new way a fairy tale which we are fond of.
