Forse esagero, ma non è un segreto che il Festival di Cannes rappresenti una ghiotta opportunità di marketing per molti marchi…o meglio per tutti quei brand che urlano LUSSO da un km di distanza. Tuttavia il fascino di Cannes sta proprio in questo, un fascino in grado di attirare l’attenzione di tutti gli amanti della moda sparsi per il mondo: qui non c’è posto per la banalità, se hai l’onore di sfilare su quel tappeto rosso devi #spaccare! Visto che nemmeno noi siamo qui a parlare di film…godiamoci i look più interessanti di questi primi 4 giorni di festival!
Maybe I’m over dramatic, but it’s no secret that the Cannes Film Festival represents a one of a kind marketing opportunity for brands…better all those brands that screams LUXURY from a mile. And basically that’s what the allure of Cannes is all about, and the reason wh it is able to draw the attention of fashion lovers from all over the world: here there is no place for basic outfits, if you are walking on that endless red carpet, you betta #slay! Dall’audace maternità di Beyoncè a quella ultra glamour di Araya A. Hergate! Per quel che mi riguarda l’attrice tailandese, al quinto mese di gravidanza, ha già vinto a mani basse il mio personalissimo “Diva Award”. Nota di merito al prezioso mantello di seta Ralph&Russo, ricoperto di piume e cristalli, che le ha garantito un’entrata trionfale alla cerimonia di inaugurazione del festival.
From Beyoncé’s firce maternity style to the glamourous one of Araya A. Hergate! The Thai actress, five months pregnant now, wins my personal “Diva Award” hands down. Let me also give credit to that precious Ralph & Russo silk cape, covered in crystals and feathers, that granted Araya a show-stopping entrance during the festival’s opening ceremony.

HOW TO ACTUALLY WEAR THE RED CARPET
Qual’è quel colore che intimidisce solo quando non è servito in un calice di vetro? Il rosso ovviamente (e si parlavo di vino, non scomodiamo Dracula) ! Acceso, vibrante, audace e grida “GUARDATEMI!!”: praticamente il mio colore preferito…tranne quando si parla di prelievi. Sul tappeto rosso tuttavia è bene indossarlo solo se si è sicuri di non mimetizzarsi con la tappezzeria. Julianne Moore e l’angelo di Victoria’s Secret Sara Sampaio sembrano aver recepito il messaggio forte e chiaro.
What’s that color that looks intimidating only when it’s not served in a stem glass? Red of course ( and yes I was referring to wine, no need to bring up Dracula) ! Bright, vibrant, fierce and it scream “LOOK AT ME!” from miles: basically my favourite color…exept when it’s referred to blood samples. It’s tricky to wear red on the red carpet, because you have to be sure to stand out. It seems that Julianne Moore and model/Victoria’s Secret angel Sara Sampaio got the memo loud and clear.

A SHORT DRESS FOR CANNES? YOU BETTA SLAY!
Non è comune vedere abiti corti sul tappeto rosso del Festival di Cannes, di solito si punta sulla teatralità assicurata da abiti più importanti. Kendall Jenner e Sara Sampaio hanno scelto di stupire senza andare sul sicuro e ci sono riuscite; meno convincenti Amber Valletta e Charlotte Gainsbourg in due mini abiti più adatti ad un party che ad un red carpet.
Usually you don’t see many short dresses on Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet, because it is easier to go for the drama that a gown would ensure. Kendall Jenner and Sara Sampaio tried the harder way to wow us and made it, while Amber Valletta and Charlotte Gainsbourg ‘s short dresses felt less convincing and more suitable for a party than a red carpet.

#DISAPPONTED
Avete presente quella sensazione di aver fatto tutto il possibile perché una cosa riuscisse bene…e questo non succede? Ecco mi succede la stessa cosa quando sono convinta di aver seguito alla lettera le ricette di LePrince...e invece mi accordo di aver dimenticato qualcosa di fondamentale! Lo stesso vale per bella Emily Ratajkowski: il leggerissimo abito XX indossato per la serata di inaugurazione non riesce ad esaltare l’importante collier, mentre l’intricata creazione di Peter Dundas avrebbe richiesto uno styling più graffiante e meno casual.
Do you know that feeling when you think you have done anything to make somenthing right…but it doesn’t? Well, that’s what happen when I’m sure to have literally followed LePrince‘s recipes but then I realized I missed something really important! The same situation applies to the beautiful Emily Ratajkowski: the light silky Twinset slip dress felt cheap compared to that luxurious collar necklace, while the elaborated lace jumpsuit by Peter Dundas required a much more sophisticated styling.
