Oscar 2017? Un’edizione da ricordare: Justin Timberlake in forma smagliante per l’apertura, premiazioni equilibrate, Sting con la chitarra e un’epica figura di merda sul finale.
Ovviamente tutto nell’unica sera in cui ho voluto fare la splendida e dormire 8 salutari ore prima di andare al lavoro.
Oscars 2017? What a memorable edition: Justin Timberlake singing and dancing in the opening, fair awards, Sting on stage with a guitar and that Miss Universe moment in the end.
It all happened in that one night I told my self to be wise and sleep 8 beautiful hours before work.
Se lo show ha riservato non poche piacevoli sorprese (Moonlight che batte il ruffianissimo La La Land come miglior film e Viola Davis che vince come miglior attrice non protagonista in Fences), lo stesso non si può dire del tappeto rosso: per quanto raffinato ed elegante, ha peccato più volte di originalità.
Cioè? Una sfilza infinita di abiti neutri, tendenzialmente bianchi o in sfumature affini: che gli stylist di Hollywood si siano coalizzati per dirci qualcosa in codice? Lo so che ci sono buone ragioni per non vestire sempre di nero…ma neanche la tenuta da gelataio dovrebbe diventare un must. Nonostante la discutibile color palette, le star d’altro canto hanno davvero cercato di trasmettere un messaggio di rilievo indossando il nastro blu della ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), simbolo del proprio sostegno all’organizzazione che si batte per i diritti civili in America.
While the show provided many pleasant surprises (like Moonlight winng Best Picture over the overhyped La La Land and Viola Davis winning her first Oscar with her role in Fences), the same can’t be said about the red carpet: elegant of course, but kind of repetitive at times.
Meaning what? An endless parade of neutral gowns, usually white or in similar shades: dear Hollywood stylist, were you trying to tell us something?
I know that I gave you plenty of reasons for not wearing black all the time…but this bridal wave should not be the answer. Despite the questionable trend, the stars themselves were actually trying to tell us somthing meaningful by wearing the ACLU blue ribbon: a symbol signifying their support for the American Civil Liberties Union.
Se vi siete goduti lo show per intero direi che è il caso di coprire quelle meravigliose occhiaie, per tutti gli altri che hanno fatto sonni tranquilli preparate i pop corn, è ora di fare un bel reality check al red carpet degli Oscar 2017!
If you watched the whole show, I guess it’s time to put some concealer on those dark cyrcles, for the others, sit down and get your popcorn ready, it’s time to give the 2017 Academy Awards a well deserved Reality Check!
