SUICIDE SQUAD OR SUICIDE MOVIE?!
Suicide Squad is a unique superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team.
The film is written and directed by David Ayer and claims an amazing cast featuring Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto.
Isn’t it enough for assuming this film as greater than Marvel’s?
Of course not..
First of all let’s analize the two pillars of the plot: the incredible and original Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Will Smith as Deadshot. This is the second unconventional superhero beautifully played by Will Smith: he perfectly embodies Deadshot’s leadership and humor. As for the talented Margot Robbie I have to admit that the movie would not have been the same without her: she is beautiful crazy and dangerous, the perfect Harley Quinn.
Let’s talk about Cara Delevigne now. We have already seen the top-model-turned-actress on the big screen as the complicated Margo in Paper Towns, and we are very familiar with her ability to deliver various and crazy expressions, (always keeping it sexy though) therefore it should have been easy for her to play a character such as Enchantress: the perfect mix between a beautiful young woman and and an evil yet ambiguous creature.
Last but not least the most awaited character: the Joker.
As everybody knows, Jared Leto had the hard task to give his own take to the iconic character, delivering a performance as good as the previous ones, played by Heath Leadger and Jack Nicholson. Well, I’m glad to say that he made it!
His Joker might look fancy, but it is already impossible to forget his singular laugh and his great expressiveness, a twist that nobody has given to the Joker before.
So how was the movie at the endi of the day?
As you might have seen on the internet, Suicide Squad has received A LOT of critical reviews: some critics have described it as a complete mess, a nonsense or even a movie with no style. However the fans defend the director, saying that David Ayer has designed this movie mirroring the characters’ spirit: crazy, complex and tricky. In my opinion David Ayer has positivelly overturned all the expectations.
Finally let me take a moment also to praise the soundtrack, the directoral choices and the film-editing (which is the most crucial part of this movie): A M A Z I N G!
So if you have not seen the movie yet, get ready to be shocked and keep watching the trailer my dear…
