What we loved about Iris Van Herpen futuristic couture show in Paris

In altre parole: bellissima.

“Haute Couture should bee fun, foolish and almost unwearable”. This is a famous quote from Christian Lacroix, that describes couture as a pure form of art (even though today is also an expensive yet powerful tool to draw attention to a luxury brand). The Iris Van Herpen‘s couture collection showcased today (Jan. 23) in Paris represented everything that Lacroix said: it was fun, unexpected, maybe foolish and as for some pieces, litteraly unwearable. In other words: beautiful.

Overall the 15-pieces collection played with sculptural shapes, transparency and 3D details: in fact the show was opened by two Manta dresses in transparent PU, decorated with 3D wavy lines; the geometrical motif was featured also on black and white wool coats. However the star of the show was the final look: a sculptural 3D dress with embedded crystals to catch the light.

Well, I guess that everything starts with me and my love for writing and fashion. Creating this project has not been easy, but I am really proud of my little creature; watching how it is developing is quite entertaining and I believe I am not going to stop any sooner.
